May June 2008
Daylilies are blooming and the grasses are growing!  We have planted the hay fields and pastures with orchard grass, alfalfa, clovers, chicory, little bluestem, big bluestem, indian grass and fescue to extend the growing season and allow for rotational grazing.
The dairy has been approved and we are lining up contractors so we can break ground in July.  We are driving posts and getting ready to hang the perimeter fences.

We have purchased a sickle bar mower, tedder, hay rake, and baler so we can harvest hay this year.  The tree seedlings we planted are doing well, and the ground cover is showing signs of growth.  It's nice to see the pastures turning green.  Kristy has planted asparagus, blueberries, rhubarb and raspberries in the garden area.  We are working on mulching to cut down on erosion and weed growth.  The farm is taking shape, all we need is more hours in a day.  Trust me it's a great problem to have!
