January February 2008 Update

Site Work has begun.  Many Thanks to Brian Hoopengardner, Mike's brother who spent three days excavating the site for the 60x136 barn.  We learned that Mike cannot look at ground and tell what level is.  Fortunately Brian taught Mike how to use a laser level and found out more dirt needed to be excavated.  Mike and his keen eye needs to stay in Stained Glass.  The ground was excavated, leveled and stone has been put in place for the floor of the barn.  FBI will start shortly on the barn and in February we will have our first structure on the farm.  The lower right picture is Jess standing in the middle of the new barn site.  The lower left is Brian using the dozer.

Welcome Race Fans

January 29th Holes have been drilled and construction has begun on the barn.  The weather is brutal with wind chills below zero.  FBI has a great crew building the barn and if the weather cuts them a break we should get the final inspection in February.

The crew from FBI have been amazing!  They have been building the "extreme weather" barn in sub-zero wind chill, temps in the 60 degree range, rain, snow, freezing rain, ice, mud, and fog.  It is incredible that they have been able to get any work done.  The crew is doing an excellent job!  With all the extremes they still have kept the barn square and looking great.  We hope to get the final inspection done by the first week of March..
